To say that Missy saved the day may seem like a bit of an exaggeration...but it isn't.  My family and I recently moved into a new home and fortunately for us Missy's schedule allowed her to help us during this stressful time.  At a time when I felt both emotionally and physically exhausted, Missy showed up with her fantastic spirit and energy.  She helped organize my home, arrange my furniture and keep me laughing. 

Missy was able to see where my old furniture worked best in my new space and helped me choose new furniture with confidence.  Her expertise of color and dimension enabled me to choose new pieces with ease.  She even helped decide where my art should be hung.

My fiancé and I just moved into our first place with old, hand-me-down furniture and wanted to transition to a look that was a reflection of our own style. We tried a few things but were just kind of stuck, and a friend recommended Respace. We had a small budget and were willing to do the work ourselves, so Missy came in to evaluate our space and give us guidance. Right away Missy gave us a ton of creative ideas for every room and walked us through options to accomplish a look that we could personalize based on our budget and our personalities. We're still working, but so far everything she recommended is perfect! We love our first place so much more now and couldn't be happier with the results. Now my friends and family are asking for her number!

I am not an organized person and my living room was being taken over with 2-year-old toys. It just wasn’t working, and I needed help. I contacted Missy and she came for an initial assessment, which was enlightening within the first five minutes. So I knew she was going to be great, despite the fact that I was embarrassed at the mess! I told Missy that I really didn’t have a large budget at all to work with, and she was completely respectful of that throughout the whole process. We set a date for our "work day," and we emailed back and forth several times about what we would accomplish that day. She had great ideas and was very patient with my confusion and indecisiveness. She was on top of everything even if I wasn’t! On our "work day," our plans slightly changed as we started doing things, because it was clear that we needed to give my daughter’s room some re-spacing in order to make room for all the toys before rearranging the living room. Missy even helped me lug a dresser up from the basement to see if it would work in her room. Then, after trying it in a few places—which I never would have done myself—we decided it wasn’t going to work, and she helped me carry it back down to the basement. In the end, she created a room for my daughter that works and looks so much better, and a living room with no toys in it—where she also made some smart furniture rearrangements and hung paintings that I had had sitting in a box in the living room for at least a year. In short, I felt like I was on a home improvement HGTV show when Missy was there—everything happened so fast and she had such on-the-fly great ideas and, in one day, she did so much more than I ever could have done in one year. Missy is creative, flexible, patient, fast, industrious and totally worth every penny.

Several months before my 40th birthday, I decided that I was tired of living in a glorified dorm room and wanted a real adult space. After a brief search, I came across the Respace site, and I knew that Missy was just the person for me. After we decided on a modest budget, we got rid of piles of old paperwork and a lot of mismatched furniture. With Missy's guidance, I was able to use the few nice pieces of furniture I already had; in addition, she helped me choose stylish new pieces for the living and dining rooms. She also rearranged the master bedroom, created a home office from a second bedroom, and added shelves to the master bathroom for much-needed storage. The best parts were when she rearranged the kitchen and later the whole condo. On both occasions, I left when she started and came back to find everything reorganized and redecorated. Over the last several months, Missy transformed my condo from a place I was ashamed of into somewhere I could invite my family and friends. I'm even sleeping better because of the curtains Missy picked out. Missy has changed my life!

What began as a small organizational challenge turned into a complete office furniture renovation – a project that could not have been completed without your energy and guidance. As a small manufacturing company, the use of our office space needs to be efficient and productive. When you arrived, we learned that layers of "stuff" from previous employees were taking up valuable storage space. Even worse, we were purchasing additional storage units to accommodate all the new "stuff" that was accumulating from current employees. Your quick assessment of the problem and ultimate master plan to create appropriate per-person storage was the much-needed impetus that we needed to begin the process.

It’s been a 3-month process, and the fruits of your efforts are in full display. Gone are the spaghetti-like electric cords cascading down from individual desks. Gone are the individual storage cabinets under each desk. Gone are hundreds of pounds of outdated documents, unused books and expired manuals. In its place, we have new work desks with a generous and organized storage system. We have an organized filing location and record-keeping program. Most of all, our employees feel the relief of working in clutter and now have the space they need to perform their tasks efficiently.

Missy was a breath of fresh air from the moment she met with me. She is professional...but also a real joy to work with. Respace helped me get organized and, most importantly, has helped me stay organized. Missy worked with our family when we moved into a new house. She was very efficient, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. Missy was able to visualize the best use of the space. She worked with us in determining how we planned to live in the new space. My husband and I were so excited to move into our first place together. But being the first place together, it was a very small condo. We had combined our furniture together and most of our stuff clashed. Our space was too small for our furniture and we had complicated space to work with. Missy is a master at reorganization. We had been trying to use a room in our condo for multiple functions, but just couldn't make it work. I placed an ad on Craig’s List looking for an interior designer to help me furnish my newly purchased condo.   Luckily, Missy saw my ad and responded that she’d be willing to take me on as a project.  I have good taste, and know what I like, but had no idea on where to start while decorating.  I really needed someone to tell me what I needed to do, what my options were, and what they would do if they were me.  Missy really delivered on all of those points.  I found her to have very good design sense with a cool, streamlined and modern sense of style.  Missy did an excellent job of trying to find out who I was as a person, and what made me tick prior to making any suggestions.  She took the time to meet me and see my place before the closing even took place.  She was very responsive, by phone or email, to any and all of my concerns regarding my new space.  By the time it was done, she had aligned my furniture and belongings in an optimal arrangement so as to maximize space and flow of positive energy.  My condo looks great, thanks to her tips and suggestions.   She also did an exceptional job of hanging my art in such a way as to make it very pleasing to the eye.  She left me an extensive list of things I needed to purchase and offered me tips and suggestions on where I might want to buy them and what styles I want to consider.  She knew that I was working within a budget and she came up with ideas on how to make the most use of the funds I did have.  She also had tips on lighting, shelving, and general organization of my space.  Missy was great to work with…..great.  She was fun, positive, engaging, and best of all, knowledgeable.  She really knows her stuff and has a natural talent for aesthetics.  I wholeheartedly recommend hiring Missy for all of your design needs.  She’s a real pro.

Missy has an amazing knack for beautifully paring down a space that is filled to the brim.  After a long Sunday afternoon working on my living room, my space felt revitalized, clean and redecorated, just by simplifying the layout & repositioning my own furniture. We eliminated four side tables and a few “catch-all” baskets, and I haven’t missed them once.  I now have furniture placed in a way that is more functional, visitor-friendly, and it all serves a purpose without the over-excessive cluttered feeling that I’d had before.  The clean lines of the room make me want to maintain that feeling throughout my home, and I’ve become much more aware of not introducing items simply for decorative purposes that would collect dust and fill space.  After her re-do, friends complimented me on 2 “new” club chairs I’d had for years!  Her fresh-eyed perspective is key to helping others see new possibilities, and certainly got me out a long-time decorating rut.
